Is it necessary to reveal income on your dating profile?
Your salary may seem like a shallow thing to discuss, particularly when it comes to online dating, but it does make a difference. Previous studies have shown that each dollar more a man made increased his chances of getting a response from a woman online.
As it turns out, online daters have gone mute on the issue — many singles don’t want to admit just how many zeroes they have in their salary. We examined millions of data points from FirstMet.com members and discovered that 82% do not answer the income question at all.
More interestingly, of the people who do answer it, 40% choose’Rather Not Say’, declining to put an income value.
